The Lunenburg Theatre Collective

The Lunenburg Theatre Collective (LTC) was founded in 2022 by Stephen Findlay and Mary
Knickle with the goal to bring live, professional, story driven theatre to the South Shore of Nova
Scotia. Since that time, the LTC has been producing plays, by primarily award winning Canadian
Playwrights, in the summers. Productions have included:

Lunenburg  by Norm Foster
Dead and Breakfast  written for the LTC by Jim Betts
Myth of the Ostrich  by Matt Murray
Stealing Sam  by Steven Gallagher
Tiny Beautiful Things adapted for the stage by Nia Vardalos

Love Letter by A.R. Gurney

Hedwig and the Angry Inch by John Cameron Mitchell

Along with plays, the LTC also produces annual Speakeasy Cabarets which act as
fundraisers for the group. These events have garnered wide community support and
recognition.

 

The LTC has built a loyal local audience and also provides entertainment to the
South Shore of Nova Scotia’s many visitors from around the world.

The Lunenburg Theatre Collective serves the South Shore of Nova Scotia and its many visitors
through extraordinary professional live theatre that both challenges, entertains, and cultivates
the curious theatre goer.

To create an outstanding theatre experience for audiences and artists on Nova Scotia’s South
Shore, enriching the cultural life and strengthening the economic vitality of our community.
 

 

Our Goals
1. To produce high quality, professional theatre with a maritime sensibility from Canadian
and International playwrights.
2. To create strong community value through a commitment to sustainable and
responsible fiscal practices.
3. To inspire creative and professional development of Nova Scotian and Canadian artists
and artisans through mentorship and performance.
4. To establish itself as a valuable, contributing entity to the already thriving Lunenburg
arts community.
